Black teas are warming wintertime drinks that people often sip as a remedy for colds, coughs, sore throats and the flu. Here the recipe for night time before going to bed:

  • 1 Cup of hot water

  • 1 tea bag

  • 1 Lime (are loaded with vitamin C, which is known to support the body’s natural defences. Lemon (and Lime) juice is reported to decrease the strength of the cold and flu virus in the body and reduce phlegm)

  • 1 or 2 teaspoon of honey (is known to bolster the immune system. A daily dose of honey can help you to feel energetic and stay healthy. It also has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties; if you do develop a sore or scratchy throat, honey will soothe and help heal)

  • 3 shots of whiskey or rum (Hot Teas are great at putting you to sleep. They can help with congestion by dilating the blood vessels making it easier for your mucus membranes to deal with the infection — and, combined with the herbal tea, squeeze of honey, lime, and the warm steam emanating from the drink, you have the perfect concoction for helping to clear up your cold symptoms. )

Pour hot water into mug/cup and add the tea bag for 2-3 minutes. Remove tea bag and squeeze the lime and stir. Pour in the shots of whiskey or rum and finally add the honey stir and taste.
